Story: Maki undergoes physical and mental abuse from her stepbrother. She isn't willing to believe in anyone as a result. Pi is seemingly popular on the surface but in actual fact, he feels lonely inside as he suffered a betrayal from a close friend in the past and like Maki is unwillingly to trust anyone. Their existence somehow managed to fill each other's equally lonely and empty heart. They wanted to start life afresh together but at this time Maki was struck with Alzheimer's disease and she desperately clings on to every memory she shared with Pi. But her illness caused her to forget about Pi. When she recalls for a brief moment of Pi she realizes it and her heart breaks at the thought of leaving Pi alone once again. Pi blames himself for not being able to carry out the promise he made to her and he decides he wants to end it all as life had no meaning without Maki by his side...
